July 2005 - swivelpiK made it past Phase I of Exalting Him 2005 National Talent Search. We will be competing on July 29th in Nashville, Tennessee against 9 other groups. Look for us in the audience at the Grand Ole Opry that night! Pray for us that we will do our best and that we will win to go on to the next level of competition in August. June 2005 - swivelpiK was entered in the Exalting Him 2005 Christian music competition. We will find out (by June 15th) if we go to Nashville for the next level of competition. Coming June 17th, Allison shares the stage with her brother Jesse as swivelpiK and the Dave Hassle Band play for the Block Party at Park Place Baptist! March 2005 - The band was entered in the Battle of the Bands at Thrio's in Arkadelphia. Competition was tough, with County Line from Texas and PM Today from Little Rock. swivelpiK got first place in the preliminary competition Tuesday and second place in the final competition on Saturday. June 2004 - Swivelpik placed 2nd at the Country Showdown in Arkadelphia sponsored by Colgate Toothpaste. The manager of 3 country radio stations heard the girls on this web page and suggested they compete. Although the competition was all about country music, the girls played their folk music WITH their Christian message, and still took second place! |
